Yavapai County School Superintendent Tim Carter has announced a vacancy on the Crown King Elementary School District Governing Board. By statute, this is a NON-PARTISAN seat and will be treated as such. This opening was created due to the resignation of Board Member Cathy Beck, who indicated “the number of commitments in her personal life that take time away to dedicate to the position”.  We greatly appreciate the service that Mrs. Beck provided to the school district and the community.

 In order to be eligible to hold this seat a person must; be a registered voter within the school district, be a citizen of the United States of America, be at least 18 years of age, possess their civil rights, have continually resided within the school district for at least one year immediately preceding taking office, and they or their spouse may not be employed by the district, or work for the district on a third party contract.

Deadline for receipt of letters of interest is Monday, December 16, 2024, at 5:00 p.m.  Mr. Carter will interview finalists in Crown King on Friday, December 20, 2024. The appointment should be announced by Monday, December 23, 2024 and be valid upon taking the oath of office through December 31, 2026.
